An oasis of well-being for the whole family.
An oasis of well-being for the whole family.
The dream of owning a house in the country became a reality for a family of five in the Swiss town of Wetzikon. The only problem was the cramped 80s-style master bathroom. The owners took action by having the wall to the adjacent room ripped down and transforming the newly created realm into an oasis of well-being with a sauna for the whole family.
An expanse of well-being extending into the garden
Where heavy wardrobes once stood is now a frameless sauna for the whole family, glazed on two sides. The sprung aspen-wood benches offer an unobstructed view of the spacious bathroom – right out into the garden. And to convey the feeling of a spa, the bathroom not only features a sauna but also a spacious walk-in rain shower, a free-standing bathtub and ceiling-to-floor windows.
A sensual triad of wood, stone and glass
The fact that every member can thoroughly relax in this family bathroom is also due to the sensual design: light polar pine meets velvety porcelain stoneware and glass in this bespoke sauna, while the softly rounded edges of the bathtub encounter the geometrical designer towers of the heater. And after taking a sauna, the children also have the option of running outside to cool down.

Materials
The heart of this oasis of well-being is the glazed corner sauna, whose frameless facade affords a clear view both inside and out. Here, a combination of horizontal polar pine panels, aspen recliner benches and anthracite-coloured porcelain stoneware creates pure comfort. As design elements, glass and porcelain stoneware reappear in the bathroom, for example in the shower wall and floor tiles.
