An apiary with a new purpose
An apiary with a new purpose
The garden of this dwelling was once filled with the humming of busy bees. For the man of the house was a hobby bee-keeper. That was until he decided to spend his free time rediscovering his passion for saunas. Together with the experts from Küng, he decided to convert his pretty little apiary into an outdoor sauna ...
Taking a sauna where bees once worked
Follow the paving stones through the garden and you will now see the little apiary on stilts from afar. Two granite blocks serve as stairs, while a wooden door with a glass panel leads you inside. Space may be limited, but it is cosy: two changing benches fit snugly into the wood-panelled anteroom, while a glass door leads into the cabin. To cool off, you naturally go outside ...

The bees that once lived here had it good: the mini chalet boasts a pointed roof and intricate carvings. The horizontal polar pine panelling was added to the interior during the conversion. The black stripes blend in well with the dark wood on the facade. The frameless glass door of the sauna cabin features a touch screen, creating a modern contrast.
