The Chedi Andermatt
The Chedi Andermatt
The once sleepy mountain village of Andermatt in the Swiss canton of Uri has turned into an Alpine oasis in recent years. Since The Chedi five-star hotel opened there, guests have been travelling far and wide to enjoy the idyllic mountain landscape and luxury resort. In addition to a public spa, guests are also pampered in private spas. Those who reside in the most remarkable Furka Suite in The Chedi Andermatt for example have access to a bespoke Küng sauna.
The Furka Suite: a masterstroke
Housed in the two-storey Furka Suite is a private spa spanning virtually 70 square metres and including a sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi. Thanks to a clear, architectural concept and the finest materials, the relaxation area meets the highest standards. The sauna cabin, which fits elegantly into a corner of the room, affords a fantastic view of the open, rounded wooden beams – which correspond with the polar pine wood in the sauna. The cool, anthracite-coloured natural stone tiles on the floor combine with the warm wood to create a cosy atmosphere.
The feel of paradise
The suite was designed by Swiss interior designer Beat Jäggi, who, like the architect of The Chedi, Jean-Michel Gathy, focused on natural materials and fine workmanship. Rather than pretentious luxury, both are more concerned with maximum enjoyment and ultimate relaxation. Extra attention has therefore been paid to every detail in The Chedi Andermatt: from the ski butler service to guest saunas in the suite that can be controlled by touch screen.
